Ulrich Kock - Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday, August 4 at the Little Chapel here for Ulrich Kock, 65, longtime resident of LeMars who was found dead of a gunshot would Friday morning in the kitchen of his home.
Mr. Kock, who until June 1 had been employed at the LeMars Country club, died as the result of being shot with a .22 caliber revolver, Sylvester Luken, Plymouth county coroner said. He termed the death a suicide and said Kock had shot himself between 9 and 10 am Friday.
The coroner reported that the victim left no note and that no motive was definitely known.
Neighbors heard a shot between 9 and 10 o'clock but reportedly thought the noise was from a fire cracker or backfire. Later a woman neighbor noting that Kock's mail had not been taken in, investigated and found him dead on the kitchen floor.
Burial was made in LeMars cemetery with Co-op Funeral Service of Sioux Center in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are the widow; three daughters and three sons.
