Robert Sorgdrager, age 80, of
Alton, passed away Monday at the
Hawarden Hospital.
Robert was born March 6, 1906,
near Alton, the son of Cornelius
Sorgdrager and Mary Sol
Sorgdrager. He farmed near
Newcastle, Neb., for six years. He
then returned to Alton where he was
a laborer and painter. He also did
much trapping. On Dec. 10, 1985, he
became a resident of the Hillcrest
Care Center in Hawarden.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs.
Tracy Keizer of Sheldon and 15
nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday at the Van Etten-
Oolman Funeral Home in Orange
City. The Rev. Carol B. Galley of
the United Presbyterian Church of
Alton officiated. Interment followed
at Nassau Township
Cemetery near Alton.

Robert Sorgdrager, 80, of Alton died May 19 in a hospital in Hawarden.

Services were Wednesday in Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. Carol B. Gailey of United Presbyterian Church in Alton officiated. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery.

Sorgdrager was born March 6, 1906, near Alton. He farmed near Newcastle, Nebraska, for six years and returned to Alton, where he was a laborer and painter. He also did trapping. On December 10, 1985, he became a resident of Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden.
