Ed Gehner Of Ireton Dies

Ireton-Iowa Funeral services for Mr.Ed Gehner,79, were held on Tuesday at St.Paul's Lutheran church in Ireton. Rev. Paul Friedrich officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery under direction of the Satter-Lee Funeral Home.

Mr.Gehner was born Sept.2, 1880 at Mount Olive, ILL. He died Saturday, Jan 9, at St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City, following surgery and a heart ailment. He came to the Ireton vicinity when a young man. On Oct.22, 1913, he married Miss Etta Johnson, daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs. Mike Johnson. They farmed at Maynard, Minn., for 25 years and came to Ireton in 1952.

He is survived by his widow; one son, Victor of Maynard, Minn.;one daughter, Mrs.Rosella Schroeder of Sargent, Neb., one grandson, Kenneth Gehner of Maynard; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services for Ed Gehner, 79, were held Tuesday at 2:00 in St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Ireton. Rev. Paul Friedrich officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Vernon and Billy Eilts, Roland Johson, Kenneth, Daryl and Donald Bultman.

He is survived by his wife Etta, one son, Victor of Maynard,, Minnesota, one daughter, Mrs. Rosella Schroeder of Sargeant, Nebraska, one grandson, Kenneth Gehner of Maynard, Minnesota, two brothers and two sisters.
