Former Hawarden Resident Dies at Nursing Home
Funeral services for Laurence J. Lamoureux, 61, former Hawarden resident who died Monday at an Ashton,Iowa, nursing home after a long illness, will be held at 9 o'clock this morning (Thursday) as St. Patrick Catholic Church at Sheldon.
Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery at Hawarden under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral home of Sheldon where the rosary was re ited both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
Mr. Lamoureux was born June 26, 1900, at Salix, Iowa. He married Mae Jepsen, a sister of Mrs. nellie Burnight of Chatsworth and of Mrs. Henry Ludwig of Hawarden, at Akron.
They resided at Akron, Sioux City, Boyden and Hawarden years ago when Mrs. Lamoureux taught in rural schools in this vicinity. She presently teaches in Sheldon.
He operated a cafe in Sheldon,retiring about five years ago.
Survivors besides the widow include three half-sisters and three half-brothers.
