BOYDEN, Iowa - James Allen Wielenga Jr., 48, of Boyden died unexpectedly Sunday, March 31, 2002, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Williamsburg, Iowa..
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Middleburg Free Grace Reformed Church in Middleburg, Iowa, with the Rev. Stephen Breen officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Hull, Iowa. Visitation will be 3 to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, Iowa. Mr. Wielenga was born Jan. 26, 1954, in Sioux Center, to
James and Ann (Klarenbeek) Wielenga. He graduated from Boyden-Hull High School in 1972.
He married Gayla Jager on Sept. 6, 1974, in Maurice, Iowa. He operated his own farrow-to-finish hog operation. He also was employed part time at Zevenbergen Plumbing, Sioux Center Vet Clinic and currently with Schmidt Farms.
He had been a 4-H leader and was a member of Middleburg Free Grace Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gayla; two sons, Dustin and Blame, both at home; his parents, James and Ann of Hull, Iowa; two sisters and their husbands, Marlene and Arlin DeWeerd of Ireton, Iowa, and Lisa and Dave Van Otterloo of Hull; three brothers and their wives, Leroy and Bonnie of Rock Rapids, Iowa, David and Kim of Hull, and Kevin and Pam of Boyden; a sister-in-law and her husband, Sherril and Leroy Krikke of California; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Perry and LeAnn Jager of Maurice, Curt and Marlys Jager and Warren and Bard Jager, all of Orange City, Iowa.
