PHILIP W. VAN PEURSEM
Mr. Philip Van Peursem, age 81, of Orange City, passed away Saturday, July 29, 1995 at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 1, at 10:30 a.m., at the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. Robert Hector officiated. Interment followed at the Sherman Township Cemetery, near Maurice.
Philip William was born December 7, 1913, at Maurice, the son of William and Grace (Mensink) Van Peursem. He was raised at Maurice. He lived with his parents at Maurice until 1952, when he moved to Orange City with his sister, Lucile, who cared for him. In February of 1994, they became residents of Pleasant Acres. Mr. Van Peursem was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City and a former member of the First Reformed Church in Maurice.
Survivors include his niece and her husband, Helen and Arthur Kalsbeek, of Orange City; two nephews and their wives, Howard and Jo Van Peursem, of Crystal Lake, Illinois; and David and Minerva Van Peursem, of Orange City; and eight grand nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother, Chester, and sister, Lucile.
