OREN VAN IPEREN
ORANGE CITY, Iowa — Oren Van Iperen, 84, of Orange City died Wednesday, March 8, 1995, at a Sioux City hospital
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the American Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Harlan Van Oort officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. Visitation will be after 3 pm. Sunday, with the family presant 6 to 8 p.m., at the VanEtten- Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City.
He was born June 10, 1910, in Hospers, Iowa, the son of Schalk and Dora (Van Kley) Van Iperen. He spent most of his early years in northwest Iowa, attending school in Matlock, Iowa. He married MayBelle Josephine VanDenBerge May 27, 1931, in Onawa, Iowa. They farmed at Alton, Iowa, and later at Maurice, Iowa, until 1943, when they moved on a farm near George. In 1953 they moved into George, where he became the agency manager for Farm Bureau Insurance in Lyon retiring about 1065. They then lived in Prescott, Ariz., Orange City and California. They returned to Orange City about 1980. Mr. Van Iperen was a member of the American Reformed Church. He was a former member of the Kiwanis aad Chamber of Commerce, both in George. He enjoyed attending the Adult Activity Center in Orange City and was an avid bowler.Survivors include his wife; three daughters and their husbands, Evelyn and Jack Darr of Hanford, Calif., Juanita and Richard Quinlan of Livermore, Calif., and Carol and Bernard L. Morkrid of Albert Lea, Minn.; a son and his wife, Ronald and Donna of Waukesha, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry of Turin, Iowa, and Burton of Hartley, Iowa; four sisters, Gertrude Harmelink of Sanhorn, Iowa, Nell Van Oort of Sheldon, Iowa, and Anne Jiskoot and Dorothy Byker, both of Orange City.
He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Steven and Peter; and a sister, Jennie Ver Mulm.
