ELDORA VAN ZANDBERGEN
HOSPERS, Iowa - Eldora Van Zandbergen, 61, of rural Hospers died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at her residence.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 am. Saturday at Newkirk Reformed Church, with the Rev. Dennis Hietbrink officiating. Burial will be prior to the service Saturday in Newkirk Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 9:15 am. Saturday at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City, Iowa.. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Van Zandbergen was born Jan. 15, 1939, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Henry R. and Della (Kroon) Van De Berg. She was raised in Sioux Center, where she graduated from high school. She married Harold Van Zandbergen on Jan.15, 1960, in Sioux Center. The couple farmed at Newkirk. She was a member of Newkirk Reformed Church, where she was active in the women’s organizations, taught Sunday School and catechism classes and sang in the choir. She was a volunteer at Hospers Elementary School and a member of Farm Bureau Chorus. She enjoyed music.
Survivors include her husband: a son and his wife, Robert and Robin of Orange City; four daughters and their husbands, Mikell and Ali Rabih of Denver, Mavis and James Schipper of Hospers, Martha and Darren Hulst of Hospers and Maria and Chad Schwartz of Primghar, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, Aussy, Miriam, Ahmad, Adam, Dora and Layla Rabih, Crystal, Melissa, Matthew and Nathan Schipper, Christopher, Kevin and Keith Van Zandbergen and Danielie, Zachary and Josiah Hulst; four sisters, Elma Van Roekel of Sioux Center, Verna Sandbulte of Duluth, Minn., Hendrene Zoet of Hull, Iowa, and Ardith Wynja of Sioux Center; and three brothers, Harold Van De Berg of Garretson, S.D., and Ralph and Wilmer Van De Berg, both of Sioux Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
