GRACE SCHUTT
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -Grace Schutt, 92, of Sioux Center died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Sioux Center Nursing Facility.
Memorial services will be II First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with the Revs. Arnold Roger Voskuil officiating. Burial will be prior to the services in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center is in charge of arrangements.
Grace Johanna Bernice Peelen was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Sioux Center to Herman and Engelina (Te Grotenhuis) Peelen. She graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1927. After high school, she accepted a position as a country school teacher for a few years.
On March 10, 1931, she married Sam T. Schutt. Sam preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1971. Grace and Sam farmed in the Sioux Center area for many years. After her children were raised, Grace worked in the office at the Sioux Center Sale Barn for more than 25 years.
Grace was a member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center where she sang in the choir.
Survivors include her four children, Eunice Hulstein of Sioux Center, Howard Schutt and wife, Marlys of Brookings. S.D., Eugene Schutt and wife, Anna Mae of Hospers, Iowa,
and Sandra Vande Brake and husband, Norlyn of Okoboji, Iowa: 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren: 39 great-grandchildren; six great-step-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Helene Peelen of Jenison, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
