Myron Swets
SANBORN, Iowa - Myron "Mike" Swets, 68, of Sanborn died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services will be 10 am. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Sanbom. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:30 p.m. Friday, with the family present 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Sanborn Funeral Home.
Mr. Swets, the son of Cornelius and Mary (Browneye) Swets, was born in Orange City, Iowa, on May 5, 1933. He attended country school and graduated from Newkirk (Iowa) High School. Myron served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict.
Myron was united in marriage to Patricia Dicus on Aug. 5, 1952, in Boise, Idaho. Myron and Pat returned to northwest Iowa in 1960, to farm with his father. They lived the remainder of the married life in the Orange City and Sanborn areas.
Myron was a member of First Reformed Church and American Legion Earl T. Conaway Post
318. Special interests of Myron’s included hunting and fishing for walleye. Myron’s family was very important to him and he will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Pat of Sanborn; his children, Denise and her husband, Steve Dolphin, of Winnemucca, Nev., Teresa and her husband, Bob Facinelli, of Green River, Wyo., Tanya and her husband, Randy Egdorf, of Sanbom, Scott Swets of Sanborn and Casey Swets of Winnemucca, Nev.; his grandchildren, Stacia Schroeder, Stephanie Dolphin, Melinda Batien, Tabatha Barnes, Shawn Ferguson, Shannon Fisher, Amanda Swets, Adam Swets and Kyle Swets; his greatgrandchildren, Jayson and Jordan Schroeder, Aspen Ferguson, Teiya and Bryce Batien, Ryer and Jewel Barnes and Skyla Fisher; a sister and her husband, Nelva and John Bill Vander Wilt of Hospers, Iowa; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; a greatgrandson; and two brothers, John and Tunis Swets.
