Henrietta M. (Brink) VanderLaan was born Jan. 22, 1912 to parents Henry and Jesse (Yonker) Brink, and entered into her death on January 8, 1995 at her home in Beresford, SD at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Henrietta was born in Maurice, IA, and graduated from high school there. She married Louis VanderLaan Sr., on Aug. 25, 1939 in Maurice and afterwards, they moved to Beresford.
Henrietta was a homemaker and was very active in the United Methodist Church and the community. Survivors include her son Louis Jr. and his wife, Carol of Beresford; her daughter, Mary Beth (Mrs. Darryl) Bertsch, of Roland Park, KS; her brother, Norman Brink of Rushmore, MN; her sister, Alma Vellinga of Tillamook, OR; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
