Priscilla Van Ommeren, 89, of Maurice, IA, died Friday October 29, 1999 at the Plymouth Manor Care Center LeMars, IA. She was born to Jake W, & Cynthia (‘Te Slaa) Ver Meer on August 8, 1910 in Hull, IA. She graduated from Hull High School. She received her teaching certificate from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA, Priscilla taught rural school by Hull for four years. Priscilla married Peter Van Ommeren on June 9, 1933. They farmed near Maurice until retirement. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Maurice. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Survivors include: three sons: Stan & Anna Mae of Maurice, Norm & Margene of Orange City. & Dennis of Maurice; one daughter: Ruth & David Heidebrink of Maurice; one daughter-in-law: Marge of Boyden, IA; 15 grandchildren; & 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994, one son (Don), two grandchildren (Kenneth & Cheryl), five sisters (Louise, Gertrude, Effie, Johanna. & Hattie), two brothers (Gerrit & Edward)
