Peter Van Ommeren, eighty-four, of Maurice, Iowa died Sunday, January 2, 1994 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital.
Peter, son of Anthony and Marie (Dekker) Van Ommeren, was born September 30, 1909 in Carmel, Iowa. He married Priscilla Vermeer of Hull, Iowa on June 9, 1933. Peter farmed most of his life at Maurice and was also a school bus driver for twenty years. Peter was a member of First Reformed Church in Maurice.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla, four sons and one daughter: Don and his wife, Marge (Kroeze) of Boyden, Iowa; Stan and his wife, Anna Mae (Vanden Bosch) of Maurice, Iowa; Norm and his wife, Margene (De Haan) of Orange City, Iowa; Dennis of Maurice, Iowa; and Ruth and her husband, David Heidebrink of Maurice, Iowa. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Kenneth Van Ommeren, two brothers and five sisters.
