FOREST M. TE PASKE
Mrs. Forest Te Paske, age 93, of Orange City, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 1996, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.Funeral services were held Friday, September 13, 1996, at 2:00 p.m., at the American Reformed Church in Orange City with Rev. Harlan Van Oort officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City. Forest Marjorie was born December 25, 1902, at Mt. Ayr, Iowa, the daughter of Dan and Alice (Ray) Mosier. She was raised on a ranch near Oral, South Dakota, where she rode horseback to a one-room country school. She attended high school in Pasadena, California, and was a graduate from Morningside College in Sioux City. Following graduation, she taught high school English and Latin, first at Menno, South Dakota, and then for five years at Paullina, Iowa.On December 21, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri, she married Henry John Te Paske, an attorney from Sioux Center, Iowa. They made their home in Sioux Center for five years and then moved to Orange City, where they spent the remainder of their lives. Mr. Te Paske passed away March 25, 1984, in Orange City. In February of 1995, Mrs. Te Paske became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City.She was a member of the American Reformed Church and was active in many other local organizations. She took particular interest in the Orange City Public Library, on whose board of directors she served for more than twenty years. Survivors include her four children: Joan Mark, of Cambridge, Massachusetts; Jerry Te Paske, of Ft. Washington, Maryland; John Te Paske, of Orange City; and Jean Te Paske, of Cambridge: four grandchildren; and a stepsister, Geraldine Galiani, of Hammond, Indiana. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Andrew Mosier.Memorials are being directed to the Orange City Public Library.
