Interment: East Law Cemetery, Sheldon, IowaNellie (Van Nyhuis) Ruevers married Tom Reuvers January 16, 1929. They lived on a farm near Sheldon til 1947 when they moved into town. November, 1962, Tom and Nellie moved to Long Beach, California until retirement in 1975, spending their remaining years in Bethel Manor, Bellflower, California. Nellie was a charter member of Bethel Reformed Church, Sheldon, Iowa, where for many years she was the church organist, pianist and also helped with the custodial duties that Tom was doing at the church. After moving to California she also played in Bethel Reformed Church of Bellflower, California. She taught Sunday School, catechism, held many offices in the Women's Ministries in both churches.For the last few years Nelle's heart was with the Unity Ladies Aid Boutique ( held each fall) where many, many hours were donated and the contributions of the craft items given to missions. Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Herman (Betty) Schiebout of Denver, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Marlys) Hyink of Bellflower, California; Mr. And Mrs. John (Lila) Prather of Lakewood, California. One brother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Doris) Van Nyhuis of Sheldon, Iowa. Ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Tom in 1983; 2 sisters, (Josie) Mrs. Tony Noordhoek in 1987 and (Etta) Mrs. Peter Ten Kley, Primghar, Iowa in 1989: 2 granddaughter - Lisa Schiebout in 1959 and Janelle Schiebout in 1989 and one grandson - Jeremiah Hyink in 1986.
