MINNIE ROWENHORST
ORANGE CITY, Iowa - Minnie Zeutenhorst Rowenhorst, 92, of Orange City died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at the Long Term Care Facility at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Revs. Steven Vander Molen and David Ter Beest officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. Mrs. Rowenhorst was born Sept. 28, 1908, in South Dakota, the daughter of Ben and Jane (Nyhof) Draayer. She moved with her family to Maurice, Iowa, as a child. She married Dick Zeutenhorst on Feb. 25, 1927, in Maurice. The couple farmed in Ireton and Hospers, Iowa. Her husband died March 23, 1947, in Sheldon, Iowa. She then moved to Orange City. She married Otto Albertus Rowenhorst on Jan. 13, 1949, in Orange City. The couple farmed near Orange City until 1967, when they retired and moved into Orange City. Her husband died May 22, 1980, in Orange City. She entered Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City in March 1993. In 1995, she transferred to the Long Term Care Facility. She was a member of First Reformed Church.Survivors include two sons and their wives, Marvin and Wanda Zeutenhorst and Darwin and Joan Zeutenhorst, all of Orange City; a daughter and her husband, Harriet and Robert Puff of Mesa, Ariz.; three step daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Clifford Mouw of Orange City, Aleene and Preston Wobbema of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Lila and George Boerhave of Mattock, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rencella Popma of Sioux Center, Iowa.She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Denise Zeutenhorst Rozeboorn; a brother, John B. Draayer; and a sister, Hattie Zeutenhorst.
