Benton Boyer, Sr. Dies At Age 65 Rites Saturday

Funeral service for Benton Boyer sr. Lifetime Hawarden resident who died at the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls, SD., Tuesday following a long illness, will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Barnard Funeral home. Interment will be in Grace Hill cemetery.

Mr. Boyer was born in Calliope August 27, 1896, and married Minnie Rowen here in 1919. He attended the public school here and served overseas in France during World War I. He was a carpenter most of his life. He worked for the post office and railroad for short intervals. He was a member of the V.F.W., he belonged to the Last Man's club and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include the widow; a son Benton Boyer, Jr. of Hawarden; a daughter, Betty, Mrs. Wayne Marienau of Spokane, Wash.; a sister Mrs. Frank Howsky of Pebble Beach, Calif; Two brothers, Charles Boyer of Los Angeles and Bill Boyer of Vermillion, and eight grandchildren.
