Albert Vande Kamp passed away Saturday morning in the Sioux Center Community Hospital Nursing Facility. He was born on March 4, 1906 in the Netherlands to Gerrit and Margje Vande Kamp. He emigrated with his family to America in 1910, settled in Sioux County, and attended schools there. On January 9, 1929 he married Marie De Boom. They farmed in the Sheldon and Ireton areas. he became a U.S. citizen in 1931. Aug. 9, 1941 Marie De Boom died. In October of 1944 he married Lyda De Boom. They farmed in the Doon area where he also served as a deacon in the Christian Reformed Church. In January of 1969 Lyda died. In June of 1970 he married Ethel Wiersma Kraayenbrink. They lived in Sioux Center where Albert was caretaker at the Children's Park. He retired in 1980 and in 1988 Ethel passed away.
he was member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
Survivors include 6 children and their spouses:
Jeanne and Dorman Koel of Rock Rapids, Mary and John Davelaar of Sibley, Charles and Joleen Vande Kamp of Sioux Center, Gary and Arlis Vande Kamp of George, Alwayne and Freddie Vande Kamp of Sun Lakes, AA, Lyle and Joan Vande Kamp of Sioux Center; a step daughter in law, Wilhelmina Kraayenbrink of Hull; a step daughter , Alydia and her husband Don Wassenar of Sheldon, a step son Henrich and Marilyn Kraayenbrink of Sioux Center. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 daughters in law and on step son.
