ALICE REINKING
IRETON, Iowa Alice Reinking. 81, of Ireton died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at the Morningside Manor in Alcester, S.D. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton with the Rev. Warren Prochnow officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m today, at the Porter Funeral Home in Ireton. Mrs. Reinking was born July 23, 1920, in Sherman Township, Iowa, the daughter of Titus and Jenny (Skickers) Van Bruggen. She grew up and attended country school in the Eagle Township area. She married Clifford Reinking on May 20, 1940, in Ireton. Together they farmed and lived in the Maurice and Ireton areas, before moving into Ireton in 1962. Alice's joy was being a cook in the Ireton Elementary School. She worked for the West Sioux School District for 19 years. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends. Her home was always open. She also enjoyed embroidery doing word find books and of course, gardening with Clifford.Survivors include her husband: three sons, Arlan and his wife, Sharon, and Kenneth and his wife, Karen, all of Ireton, and Roger of Minneapolis; two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Bob Hop of Alexandna, S.D., and Barbara and Jon Oliver of Sioux City: two brothers and their wives, Dr. Ted and Gerry Van Bruggen of Vermillion. S.D. and Albert and Ann Van Bruggen of Hawarden, Iowa: a sister, Dena Reinking of Artesia., Calif.: a step-brother and his wife, Dewey and Evelyn of Atlantic, Iowa: two stepsisters, Muriel and her husband, Andy Hop .of Greeley. Colo., and Elaine Riphagen of Artesia: and Jean Kuiken of Bellflower, Calif.: 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Randy Renking: three brothers, Wilson, Henry and Arie in infancy: four sisters, Cora Peuse, Tracy Vander Schaaf, Josephine VandeGriend. and Alice Van Bruggen in infancy: two stepsisters Grace Ver Steeg and Nellie Boone.
