Harriet was the daughter of Gerrit John and Anna (Noteboom) Bloemendaal. On June 22, 1936, she married Gerrit L. Rens at Orange City. Mrs. Rens lived at Orange City most of her life.She was a member of the American Reformed Church and Reformed Church Women. She also was active in the Garden and Applied Arts Divisions of the Orange City Womens Club.Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, "Gary"; daughter, Glenda Lea, and her husband, Gene Nichols of Sioux Falls; three granddaughters, Lynn Swee and Lori Kading, both of Sioux Falls; and Tracie Rens of Bozeman, Montana; three great-granddaughters, Bethany and Brianne Swee, and Kilee Kading; and sister, Eva Oordt of Orange City.She was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Kent Douglas Rens, and brother, Arie Bloemendaal.Source: Funeral Home obit
