SADIE REINDERS
ORANGE CITY, Iowa, -- Sadie Reinders, 97, of Orange City died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Services will be 2 p.m ., Saturday at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. Mrs. Reinders was born Aug.14, 1903, in rural Hull, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Atje (De Vries) De Jong. She was raised mostly in the Perkins area and graduated from NorthwesternClassical Academy in Orange City.She married John Gerrit Reinders on June 3, 1927, in Carnes. The couple farmed in the Orange City area, in 1955, they moved into Orange City. Her husband died April 12, 1953, in Orange City. She entered Heritage House in 1903. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, Faith, Hope and Love Society and Monica Society. She helped raised funds through the Cash for Trash program for 15 years.Survivors include two sons and their wives, Marvin and Evelyn of Dallas and John Jr. and Carol of Ireton, Iowa: four grandchildren, Jell, Maria, Karen and Gregory Reinders; two great-grandchildren; and a step-sister-in-law Ann Noteboom of Orange City.She was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren; and nine brothers and sisters, Ike De Jong, Jenne Druyvesteyn, Gerb De Jong, John De Jong, Otto De Jong, Agnes Jellema, Ed De Jong, Tom De Long and Lucy Noteboom.
