JOHN H. NIBBELINK
ORANGE CITY, Iowa - John H. Nibbelink, 85, of Orange City died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002,at a Sioux City hospital. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Burial will be prior to the service today in West Lawn Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 1 p.m. today at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. John was born July 24, 1916, in rural Orange City, the son of Herman and Cynthia (Te Grotenhuis) Nibbelink. He was raised in Orange City.On June 26, 1940, he married Alice Hoogland in Orange City. They farmed at Middleburg, Iowa, until 1970, when they moved into Orange City. John then did a variety of jobs. Mr. Nibbelink was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed being with people. Survivors include his wife: four children, Helen and her husband, John C. Kooima of Rock Valley, Iowa, Gerald "Jed" Nibbelink and his wife, Donna of Valencia, Calif., Alvin F. Nibbelink and his wife, Carol of Orange City, and Marcia Koerselman of Sheldon, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Philip Kooima and his wife, Kris, Amy Kooima, Wendy and her husband, James Snodgrass, Troy Nibbelink and his wife, Rebecca, Jamie Nibbelink and his wife, Kim, Natasha and her husband, Dion Vos, and Heath Koerselman; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Nibbelink of Sioux Center, Iowa; and a sister, Hattie Kleinhesselink of Orange City.He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter and seven brothers and sisters, Grace Bowman, William Nibbelink, Dena Brink, Wilmina Blankespoor, Gerrit Nibbelink, Herman Nibbelink and Henry Nibbelink.
