ALICE NIBBELINK
ORANGE CITY, Iowa - Alice Nibbelink, 83, of Orange City died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Orange City Municipal Hospital. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev.. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Burial will be prior to the services in West Lawn Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oolman funeral Home in Orange City. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today , with family present 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Alice was born April 14, 1918, in rural Orange City, the daughter of Jacob and Grace (Vande Kamp) Hoogland, She was raised in the Middleburg, Iowa, area, where she attended country school. On June 26, 1940, she married John H. Nibbelink in Orange City. They farmed at Middleburg until 1970, when they moved into Orange City. In January 1999, Mrs. Nibbelink became a resident of Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Mr. Nibbelink passed away Jan. 24, 2002, in Sioux City. Alice was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she belonged to the Faith, Hope and Love Society. She loved nature, especially birds and butterflies. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Survivors include her four children, Helen and her husband, John C. Kooima of Rock Valley, Iowa, Gerald "Jed" Nibbelink and his wife, Donna of Valencia, Calif., Alvin G. Nibbleink and his wife, Carol of Orange City, and Marcia Koerselman of Sheldon, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Philip Kooima and his wife, Kris, Amy Kooima, Wendy and her husband, James Snodgrass, Troy Nibbelink and his wife, Rebecca, Jamie Nibbelink and his wife , Kim, Natasha and her husband Dion Vos, and Heath Koerselman; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gerrit Hooland and Peter Hoogland, both of Sioux Center, Iowa.In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter; a sister, Margaret Rens; and a brother, Alfred Hoogland.
