Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 10:30 A.M., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton for Bernard Hoefer, 70, of Allen who died Sunday, Feb. 16, in the Orange City hospital.

Rosary was recited at 3 and 7:30 P.M., Monday, Feb. 17, at the parish hall.

The Rev. Mervin Hood officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Mr. Hoefer, a retired farmer, was born March 21, 1904, in Alton and lived in that area all his life. He was married February 25, 1930 to Helen Frerichs at Alton. She died in 1962.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Peter (Betty) Stoll of Alton; three grandchildren and a brother, Henry, of Alton.
