ALEXANDER BUSHMER M.D.
MISSION, Texas — Alexander Bushmer M.D., 88, of Mission. formerly of Orange City, Iowa, died Aug. 29, 2004, at his home at Waterford Gardens in Mission, where he had resided for the past 29 years.
Memorial services were held Sept. 2 at Ric Brown Family Funeral Chapel in Mission.
Alexander was born on Feb. 20, 1916, in Sioux City. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Morningside College in 1940 and a bachelor of science degree from the University of South Dakota in 1941. He received a doctor of medicine degree from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., in 1943.
He practiced medicine in Orange City for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Leola of Mission: three daughters, Cheryl Plender and her husband Dwayne of Orange City; Ramona Hofkamp and her husband Harlan of Flandreau, S.D., and Renita Oudeans of Everett, Wash.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. and a sister, Helen Anderson of Mesa, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to enhance the Butterfly Garden at Waterford Gardens. Cards may be sent to Leola Bushmer, 1522 E. Griffin Parkway, Mission, TX 78572.
