ELMIRA AUCHSTETTER
GRANVILLE, Iowa Elmira Auchstetter, 99, of Granville died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 am. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville, with Monsiznor Kenneth Seifried officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday, with a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m.. all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen, Iowa.
Mrs. Auchstetter was born May 19, 1903. in rural Granville, the daughter of Ferdinand and Susan (Thill) Full. She was raised and educated in the Granville area.
She married Tony Auchstetter on Nov. 20, 1923, in Granville. They farmed near Madison, Minn., for a couple of years, then moved to a farm near Hospers. Iowa. In 1936, they moved to a farm near Granville. They retired and moved into Granville in 1951. Tony died Feb. 27, 1958. She had been a resident of the Heritage House Nursing Home since May 19, 1998.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting. crafts and playing cards.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Gerald and Helen of Granville: four grandchildren. Bill and his wife, Susan Stratton. of Valley Center, Kan., Shari and her husband, Phil Zongker, of Wichita. Kan., Jodi and her husband, Charlie McDonald, of Andover, Kan., and Tony Auchstetter of Granville; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Otto (Gertrude) Full of Sioux City.
She was also preceded in death by her parents: five brothers, Otto, Arthur and Clem Full and two in infancy: and five sisters, Frances Pohlen, Eda Pohlen, Lottie Hodapp. Caroling Boelens and Leona Bunkers.
