Alton - John P. Hansen, 93, of Alton, died Saturday in an Orange City nursing home after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 today at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alton, with the Rev. Mervin Hood, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home, Remsen.

Rosaries were said at 3 and 8 P.M., Tuesday at the parish hall.

Mr. Hansen was born Dec. 19, 1884, at rural Alton. He operated a gas station for several years and farmed until 1945 when he retired and moved to Alton. Mr. Hansen was past president of Remsen Mutual Insurance Association, served several terms on the Alton City Council and was a member of the Granville Knights of Columbus. He married Ann Kilburg on Nov. 27, 1912, at Alton.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Albert, of Alton; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, George, Alton; two sisters, Mrs. John (Mathilda) Schuver, Parkston, SD and Mrs. Victor (Clara) Schneider, Alton.
