Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church here at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 6, for Mrs. Marvin Vermeer, 49, of Sioux Center, who died at the Sioux Center Community Hospital June 4 after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Curry Pikkart and the Rev. Gerrit Rezelman and burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Vermeer, the former Gladys Bartels, was born near Carmel May 29, 1926. She was married to Marvin Vermeer of Sioux Center February 26, 1948. The couple farmed 1 1/2 mile south of Sioux Center.

Mrs. Vermeer was a member of the board of the Florence Crittendon Home in Sioux City.

Survivors include the widower; two sons, Marlin Jay and Martin Brent at home; two daughters, Ann Barbara and Marcine Gail, both at home; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bert Bartels of Sioux Center; a brother, Peter A. of Norman, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert (Virginia) Dietz of Muscatine, and Mrs. Leon (Alice) Ver Steeg of Orange City.
