Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church here at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 9, for Gerald Schutt, 55, lifelong resident of the community, employed the past several years as a car salesman by Mouw Motors of Sioux Center, who died suddenly and unexpectedly Saturday, September 6, at the local hospital shortly after he was admitted.

Gerald had gone to work Saturday morning but complained later of a severe headache. He was taken home by Bill Mouw and shortly thereafter passed into unconsciousness, at which time he was taken to the hospital. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Jack Boerigter and burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home.

Mr. Schutt was born in Sioux Center March 25, 1920.

He married Mildred Vermeer June 19, 1945, in Sioux Center.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, the Rev. David of Otney and Mark at home; a daughter, Mary, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Fannie) Cleveringa and Mrs. Ted (Alice) Kaemingk, both of Sioux Center, and Mrs. Melvin (Harriet) Borgman of Santa Maria, Calif.; a brother, William, of Sioux Center; and one grandchild.
