Funeral services were held at First Reformed Church here at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 28, for Gerrit L. Vande Berg, 81, of Sioux Center who died at the Sioux Center Community Hospital January 25 after a lengthy illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Jack O. Boeriegter and burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Vande Berg was born December 17, 1893, in Sioux County where he lived all of his life. He married Jennie Vermeer January 27, 1915, in Sioux Center. They farmed near Sioux Center before retiring in 1943 and moving into town.

Survivors include the widow, a son, Lowell, of Sioux Center, five daughters, Mrs. John J. (Geraldine) Wynia of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Harold (Louise) Punt of Maurice, Mrs. Martin (Jeanne) Punt of Montevideo, Minn., Mrs. John (Priscilia) Zeutenhorst and Mrs. Edward T. (Gertrude) Jansen, both of Sioux Center; a brother, Arthur of Sioux Center; two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Van Beek of Westfield, N.D., and Mrs. Martin Dykshoorn of Sioux Center; 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
