A number of Alton people attended the burial of N. Kessey's little child at Orange City, last Tuesday.

(From the 1880 census of Decorah Wineshiek IA Nels Kessey was 28 his wife Anna was 19.
From the site familysearch.org found listed - Nels or Nils Jacobsen Kessey born 19 Sep 1851 at Nes Hedmark Norway died 23 Nov 1893. His father was Jacob Kirstofersen Simenstad and mother was Petrine Beathe Gjestveng. His wife was Anna/Emma Johnson married 1880 in Iowa. In the lengthy obituary of Nels Kessey in the Sioux County Herald Nov 29, 1893, the names of his children are listed as Bee, Ray, Marlice and Floyd were living then, one child Donald had died three years ago at little more than one year old. Nels was buried int the Alton cemetery.)
