Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center at 10:30 A.M., May 9 for Mrs. Gerrit Rezelman, 68, wife of the assistant pastor of the First Reformed church here, who died at the local hospital May 7 after a brief illness. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.

Services were conducted by the Revs. Jack Boerigter and Curry Pikkaart and burial was in Holland, Mich., on May 12, under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mrs. Rezelman, the former Helena M. Hoekman, was born June 7, 1906 in The Hague, Holland. She came to the U.S. with her family at the age of 3 and spent her youth at Parker and Okaton, S.D. She was married August 23, 1932, at Okaton.

The couple served pastorates in Michigan, New York, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ontario and Alberta, Canada, South Dakota and Iowa.

Survivors include the widower; four daughters, Mrs. Russell (Marie) Stadt of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Marlin (Agnes) Languis of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Howard (Esther) Den Hartog of Pella and Mrs. Len (Ruth) Popescu of Alma, Mich.; seven brothers, Dirk of Slayton, Minn., Cornelius, Anthony and Charles, all of Colton, S.D., the Rev. Martin of Rock Valley, Samuel of Murdo, S.D., and Henry of Lakewood, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Marie Joffer of Parker, Mrs. Anna Bertman and Mrs. Cornelia Joffer, both of Monroem, S.D., Mrs. Johanna Vander Wolde of Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Dena Kars of Hartford, S.D., and nine grandchildren.
