Winnie Wink DeBruin was born October 15, 1907 in rural Pipestone. Minnesota, the daughter of Dirk and Betje (Vander Kamp) Wesselink. They moved to Hospers a few years later. She made profession of faith December 20, 1923 at Hospers First Reformed Church. She graduated from Hospers High School,
"Wink’ married "Bug" DeBruin on August 23, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa. Besides being a housewife she worked as a clerk in several grocery stores and also as a bookkeeper. In March of 1996 she moved to the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon. "Bug" passed away May 23, 1998.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Don Adkins of Hospers, Marilyn and Herm Vander Maten of Tucson, Arizona. Donna and Jed Nibbelink of Valencia, California six grandchildren, Paul Adkins. Scott Adkins, Mike Vander Maten, Kara Parrish. Wendy Snodgrass and Troy Nibbelink; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great--grandchild; a sister. Gertrude Holstein of Sheldon; and a sister-in-law Marguerite DeBruin of Clinton, Iowa,
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters,
