ORANGE CITY--Albert E.Grooters,83, of Orange City, died Jan.10 at a hospital here.

Services were at 2:p.m. Jan 12 in Trinity Reformed Church, Orange City, with the Rev. Donald Lenderink officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Mr. Grooters was born Aug. 17, 1893 at Boyden. He married Minnie DeWitt Aug. 23, 1922 at Rudyard, Mich. The family operated cafes at Eagle Groves, Iowa, seven years an at Orange City 13 years. They retired 1958. He was a World War I veteran, a member of the Trinity Church board, the Chamber of Commerce and Orange City Lions Club.

Survivors include the widow; sons, Robert of Alton, and James of Wayzata, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Willard (Carol) Veencamp of Owatonna, Minn.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother Gerrit of Fort Dodge and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kooy of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Mrs.Wilma Hills of Orange City.
