Martha Faye was the daughter of Worth and Florence (Kipp) Hetherington..
On May 28, 1928, she married Neal Bauer Ver Heul at Monroe, Iowa. They made their home at Newkirk, where they were teachers at the Newkirk School for many years. Mr. Ver Heul passed away April 28, 1953, at Nevada, Iowa. On February 15, 1963, she married William Earl Van Rooyen at Alton, IA. In 1976, they retired to Bradenton, Florida. In 1984, they moved to Orange City, IA. and in 1991, they became residents of the Green Hills Retirement Complex at Ames, IA. "Bill" passed away February 5, 1994, at Ames, IA.
She was a member of the Newkirk Reformed Church.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Robert and Molly Ver Heul of Cherokee, IA; a step-daughter and her husband, Lynn and Larry Zwagerman, of Ames, IA; a step-son and his wife, William and Pam Van Rooyen of Palos Verdes Estates, California; five grandchildren, Kelly Zwagerman Schultz, Daniel Zwagerman, Carol Ver Heul Lamoureux, Jennifer Van Rooyen, and Jessica Van Rooyen; three great-grandchildren, Quin and Cooper Schultz, and Christian Lamoureux; and a sister, Madeline Glasser, of Mount Morris, Illinois.
