Born January 22, l903; LeMars, Iowa
Passed Away March l6,l988; Hull, Iowa at the age of 85 years, l month, and 24 days.
Funeral Service- Saturday, March l9, l988; l0:30 a.m. American Reformed Church, Hull, Iowa
Clergymen: The Rev. Phillip P. Sneller and the Rev. Henry G. Eggink
Casket Bearers: Donald De Groot, Kenneth De Groot, Rodney Langstraat, Morris Nettinga, Orville Nettinga and James Warntjes.
Interment Hope Cemetery, Hull, Iowa
Cathrinus was the son of Kornelus Nettinga and Susie Bylsma Nettinga.
He graduated from Hope College and Western Theological Seminary, both in Holland, Michigan. He then became pastor of the Reformed Church of Bigelow, Minnesota.
The Rev. Nettinga then served as an army chaplin in the Pacific theatre during World War II.
After the war, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he was a manufacturing representative for the Lowell V. Maxon Company. He retired in l965. In l985, he moved to Hull.
He was a member of the American Reformed Church.
Survivors include his brother and sisters, Mrs. Peter J. (Agnes) De Groot, Gerrit Nettinga, Catherine Nettinga, and Susan Nettinga, all of Hull; and Mrs. Edward (Alice) De Boer, of Orange City; and nephews and nieces.
He was preced in death by three sisters, Dena Nettinga, Jennie Warntjes, and Julia Harmelink.
