Hawarden Independent of Sep 19, 1889
Died – Alice Edna Holman, aged one year eight months and four days. A deep shadow was suddenly cast over our community and more especially over on household, by the death of the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Holman. On Saturday evening she was in perfect health; on Sunday noon she had passed away. Cholera infantum did the terrible work. The funeral services took place on Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. Suckow officiating, and the large concourse of friends bespoke the sympathy of the community for the parents in their deep affliction. They may rest assured that many hearts have been touched by their sorrow. Little Alice was a sweet child, a blossom that withered all too soon.
