Heemstra, Audrey, Mrs. Merlyn - 1932-1978

Mrs. Merlyn Heemstra, 45, of Orange City, died at a hospital here Friday of a long illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M., Monday in First Reformed Church. Dr. Raymond Van Heukelom, and the Rev. Perry Raak officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery with the Van Gelder Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Heemstra, the former Audrey F. De Boer, was born June 4, 1932 at Ireton. She was married Aug. 26, 1952 at Sioux Center. The couple farmed southwest of Orange City.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church, its Ladies Guild, and a member of the Sioux County Farm Bureau Chorus.

Survivors include the widower; three daughters, the Misses Leah of Mason City, Denise of Buffalo Center and Karen at home; and one son, Mark, at home; her parents Mr. & Mrs. George De Boer of Sioux Center; and two sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Norma) Korver of Maurice and Mrs. Tunis (Ila) Cleveringa of Sioux Center; and two brothers, Theran of Doon and Irwin of Sioux Center.
