Mrs. Fritz Leadstedt of this city received word Sunday that her father, Fred Peterson, had passed away that morning at his home in Long Beach CA, following a brief illness. Mrs. G. A. Lindgren, also of Long Beach hurried to his bedside but in spite of all that medical aid could do he passed away within a few hours. His remains will be brought here and will arrive Friday afternoon. Funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alice Olson at Big Springs, and the Big Springs Baptist church at 2:30.
Mr. Peterson was 83 years of age and was a former resident of Hawarden and a pioneer of Big Springs. His many friends here are sorry to learn of his sudden death.
He is survived by five children - Mrs. Alice Olson and Henry Peterson of Alcester; Mrs. Fritz Leafstedt of Hawarden; Mrs. G. A. Lindgren of Long Beach CA, and Mrs. Arthur Jansen of Atlanta GA.
