Mrs. Henry W. Vermeer, 85, of Sioux Center, died Thursday in a Sioux City hospital of a brief illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M., Saturday in the First Reformed Church at Sioux Center. The Rev. Thurman Rybrandt officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, with the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Vermeer, the former Johanna Rozeboom, was born Feb. 6, 1892 at Sioux Center and was a lifetime resident of the community. She was married Oct. 20, 1910 at Sioux Center. Mr. Vermeer died Aug. 1, 1966.

Survivors include five sons, Henry of Wyoming, Mich., John L. of Montevideo, Minn., Elmer and Gerald of Sioux Center, the Rev. Kenneth of Sioux City; and a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Helen) Nettings of Sioux Center; three brothers, Henry of Lynden, Wash., Gerrit of Orange City and the Rev. Richard of Denver, Colo.; and one sister Mrs. Glen (Minnie) Neifert of Red Oak; 27 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
