Gerrit Oostenink, 77, of Hull, died Tuesday at a hospital in Sheldon of a brief illness.

Services were at 1:30 P.M., Friday in Hope Christian Reformed Church at Hull. The Rev. James Cooper officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery under direction of the Kraai Funeral Home.

Mr. Oostenink was born May 13, 1900 at Hull and was a lifetime resident of the community. He married Hattie Rikkers July 25, 1919 at Hull. He was a hardware store employee who served as a plumber. Mrs. Oostenink died in September of 1971. He was a member of Hope Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Bonnie) Geels of Sheldon, Miss Garneth and Miss Lorraine, both of Sioux City, and Mrs. Wallace (Verna) Bouma of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and a son, Dr. William J. of Hamilton, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Dick of Hull and a sister, Mrs. John C. (Mable) Dykstra of Rock Valley.
