Mrs. Frank Schafer, 94, of Boyden died Saturday at a Sheldon nursing home.

Services were at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday at United Presbyterian Church in Boyden. The Rev. Willis Nicholson officiated. Burial was in Boyden Cemetery under direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Boyden.

Mrs. Schafer, the former Effie Horn, was born June 25, 1883, in Powesheik County. She married Frank Schafer Feb. 15, 1905, in Boyden. He died in 1960.

Survivors include a son, Roy of Boyden; four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Elsie) Doorenbos, Mrs. Herman (Florence) Rohlfs, and Mrs. Theodore (Olive) Doorenbos, all of Boyden, and Mrs. Albert (Marie) Van Roekel of Sheldon; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Kortekamp of Bemidji, Minn., and Mrs. LaVina Harmon of Springfield, Ore.; a brother, George of Boyden; two half brothers, John of Lake Wilson, Minn., and Joe of Boyden; three half-sisters, Mrs. Delia Scholten and Mrs. Peter (Minnie) Vis, both of Valley Springs,S.D., and Mrs. Richard (Marie) Doorenbos of Boyden; 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild.
