Mrs. Selma Tillie Peterson 34 years, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto leiff, in this city last Friday after an immdiate illness of about two weeks. Funeral services were in the Big Sprins Bapist Church and she was buried in the church cemetery. She was the youngest daughter of her parents was born Sep 13, 1881 at Big Springs SD. A year ago she moved to Hawarden with her parents. April 14, 1907 she was united in marriage to Charles M. Peterson, but he died on Apr 30, 1909, just before the mother gave birth to twin daughters, Fern and Florence. She never fully recovered from that crushing blow, but her love for the little girls kept her going. Her health was declining but her death was unexpected. Survivors were her two daughters Fern and Florence, her parents, only brother Albert Leiff of Big Springs, and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Johnson of Big Springs and Mrs. T. E. McBride of Baird, WA.
