Victor Peterson, who has been employed for the past two years as expert repair man by the Hawarden Auto Co., died Monday afternoon from typhoid fever, after a short illness. He became ill a few weeks ago and was taken to the Hawarden hospital. His family has been residing in Racine WI, their former home since last fall. The family came to his beside Friday. The body was take to Racine for interment. A Short service was held in the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon.
Victor Peterson was born in Sweden in the year 1869. He came to the United States in 1887 and landed in New York city on Easter Sunday that year. He settled for a time in Connecticut and about two years later went to Rockford IL. While there he met Miss Mary Alice Anderson with whom he was united in marriage in the year 1891. To this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters. The children are: Charles, David, Esther, Ruth, Edith and Roy. The last two named are well known in Hawarden, coming here with their parents in 1899. About two years ago he came back to Hawarden from Racine WI, hoping to improve his health and followed his trade of auto machinist.
