Gerrit Vande Kamp, 76, of Sioux Center, died Tuesday at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Services were at 1:30 P.M., Friday in Bethel Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Henry Vanden Heuvel officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery under direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. VandeKamp was born Oct. 21, 1901, in The Netherlands. He came to the United States at the age of 8. He married Hattie Gerritsen of Sioux Center, Jan. 24, 1924, at Sioux Center. They farmed and lived in the Sioux Center area, moving to town in 1959.

Survivors include the widow; seven daughters, Mrs. Asa (Wilhelmina) Kraayenbrink of Hull, Mrs. Margaret Meendering and Mrs. Donald (Alvina) Punt, both of Sioux Center, Mrs. Harold (Henrietta) Sneller of Orange City, Mrs. Lloyd (Gracia) Punt of Pipestone, Minn., Mrs. Edwin (Helen) Mulder of Lansing, Ill., and Mrs. Don (Gertrude) Vos of Ripon, Calif.; a son, Gerald of Hardwick, Minn.; 29 grandchildren; two brothers, George of Orange City, and Albert, of Sioux Center; and a sister, Mrs. Jake Hoogland of Sioux Center.

Gerrit, son of Gerrit and Margie Vande Kamp, was born October 21, 1901 in Oldebroek, Netherlands. He came to the United States in 1909 at the age of 8.
He was united in marriage to Hattie Gerritsen of Sioux Center on January 24. 1924 at Sioux Center. They farmed near Sioux Center until 1959 when they moved to Sioux Center.
He passed away very suddenly at his new home of an apparent heart attack on Tuesday, January 17, 1978 at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 26 days.
He is survived by his widow Hattie, I son and 7 daughters; Wilhelmina (Mrs. Asa Kraayenbrink) of Hull, Iowa; Mrs. Margaret Meendering of Sioux Center, Iowa; Alvina (Mrs. Donald Punt) of Sioux Center, Iowa; Gerald of Hardwick, Minnesota; Henrietta (Mrs. Harold Sneller) of Orange City, Iowa; Gracia (Mrs. Lloyd Punt) of Pipestone, Minnesota; Helen (Mrs. Edwin Mulder) of Lansing, Illinois, Gertrude (Mrs. Don Vos) of Ripon, California; 29 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers. George of Orange City, Iowa, Albert of Sioux Center, Iowa and one sister, Mrs. Jake Hoogland of Sioux Center, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Gerrit and two sisters.
