Sanborn--Kenneth Vander Velde, 55, died last Friday at his home south of Sanborn.

Services were at 1:30 P.M., Monday at the First Reformed Church in Sanborn with the Rev. Gerald Osland officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Sanborn Funeral Home.

Mr. Vander Velde was born May 17, 1923 in Hospers. Mr. Vander Velde moved with his family to Sanborn in 1935. There he married Kathleen Van Heukelom of Hull on June 24, 1946. The couple farmed south of Sanborn since their marriage.

Mr. Vander Velde was a World War II veteran, member of American Legion Conaway Post in Sanborn and member and elder of First Reformed Church.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Keith of Ames and Marlin of Sanborn; two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Nadine) Hill of Jonestown, Penn., and Mrs. Fred (Faye) Anema of Hartley; two sisters, Mrs. Donald Kroese of Sanborn and Mrs. Wayne Lamkin of Van Couver, Wash., and six grandchildren.
