Dale G. Kock, 45, of Rock Valley died Thursday, September 17, 1987, in a hospital in Rock Valley after a long Illness of cancer.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 19 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. James Demke officiated. Burial was in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Sioux Center. Family visitation was held in Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. Kock was born September 16, 1942, in Hudson, South Dakota. He graduated from Rock Valley community High School in 1960 and Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1965. He married Margit Johnson August 7, 1965, in Sioux Falls. He taught at Patrick Henry Junior High School in Sioux Falls until 1967 when the couple moved to a farm near Rock Valley.

Mr. Kock was a present board member of Farmer’s Mutual Insurance Company and past member of Sioux County Fair Board and Sioux County Cattle Feeders Board. He was a former 4-H leader, Boy Scout leader and Cub Master. He served on the Rock Valley Library Board and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Council.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David of Ames and Michael at home; his parents, Fritz and Louise Kock of Rock Valley, and a sister, Mrs. Rodney (Doris) Hall of St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
