Sheldon-Mrs. Bert Rens, 73, of Sheldon, died July 6 at her residence of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M., July 9 in Immanuel Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Peter Holwerda officiated. Burial in East Lawn Cemetery was under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rens, the former Alice Peters, was born May 19, 1903, in Sioux Center. She was married Feb. 15, 1923.

Survivors include the widower; three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Hermina) Bosma of Hospers, Mrs. Bernard (Katheryn) Santema of Sheldon and Mrs. Kenneth (Jean) Vermeer of Norwalk, Calif.; two sons, John and Alvin, both of Remsen; five sisters, Mrs. Al (Catheryn) Walraven of Sioux Center, Mrs. Steve (Jeanette) Poppema of Hospers, Mrs. William (Florence) Rowenhorst of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Martin (Alvina) Keuning of Holland, Mich., and Mrs. Searle (Josephine) Jacobsma of Sioux City; a brother, John of Monrovia, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
