Sioux Center - Stuart Vander Schaaf, 79, of Sioux Center, died Tuesday, June 27 at Sioux Center hospital.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the First Reformed Church, with Revs. Thurman Rynbrandt and Gerrit Rezelman officiating. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Vander Schaaf was born November 26, 1898, at Newkirk. He married Nell Roos March 1, 1923, at Orange City. The family farmed in Iowa and Minnesota and lived at Spirit Lake, Rock Valley and Sioux Center.

Survivors include the widow: a daughter, Mrs. George (Phyllis) Good of Butler, New Jersey, three sons, Duane of Fargo, North Dakota, Leon of Rock Valley and Russell of Garden Grove, California; 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William (Lillian) Top of Orange City.
