Rock Rapids - John Hagedorn, 77, of Rock Rapids, died Monday, June 26, in a Sioux Falls hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at the Christ Lutheran Church at Alvord. The Rev. John Kronlokken officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the Jongewaard-Stapp Funeral Home, Rock Rapids. A prayer hour will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hagedorn was born May 8, 1901, in Lyon County. He married Christine Lottman in 1929 at Alvord. He farmed his entire life in the Alvord area and continued to live on the farm after his retirement in 1967.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. James (Joyce) Gillespie of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Tina Hagedorn of Alvord and Mrs. Alfred (Leona) Ahders of Inwood, Iowa.
